As of today, I haven't posted since June 29, 2010, because my camera broke. I got it repaired, but I was too far off the wagon. Since I'm unemployed and can't spend *every* waking hour job-hunting, maybe I'll try to catch up a bit.
And so I give you: BUNNEHS!
From my boyfriend's parents' backyard. <3!
I was just wondering yesterday if you were still doing this. Glad you're back! I've been thinking I want to learn more about photography... Any advice on how to teach myself? Any good websites you know of?
ReplyDeleteIt's totally worth it if you can get into even a single course at a community college or something. I took one photojournalism course at my university and LOVED it. Aside from that, I've learned everything else by having a camera glued to my face. There aren't any specific photography sites I follow, but I occasionally research a photographer who inspires me—Vivian Meier most recently—and try to take mental notes of what they do.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, there are SO many resources out there, it should be easy to find a photo blog or website with pointers, tips, lessons, etc. A lot of people also enjoy joining photo groups that offer daily, weekly, or monthly challenges or themes. These are super helpful if you don't travel a lot and tend to see the same thing every day.
I'll post some of my favorite websites as I think of them. I have one on the right side of this page called "Adipositivity" that I think is just an *amazing* project.
Thanks! I've been thinking about taking a community college class but I kind of feel like it would be out of my league! I know NOTHING about photography right now... But I guess that means I can only get better. Right? I'm glad you brought up joining a photo group. I'll have to research that some more.
